This has hardly ever been used as our van came with an inverter already in it from Chrysler. Limited power in is out. This inverter will function to 100 of its true rated specifications when powered directly from any fully charged dc battery on vehicle type.

Some vehicle circuits have limited power amps prior to the receptacle or port. I have this nice Tripp-lite dc to ac mobile power inverter model PV5002 with direct connect battery leads. This unit has some advantages over the other cigarette lighter powered units in that inverter is directly from any 12 volt battery, thus not limiting your incoming power to vehicles boats individually fused circuit. It has 2 receptacles on the front side and I think peak brief period power is 600 watts .
