This is not ransom. Inverter, powered from 12vdc, for 120vac loads up to 400w.

There would be no shipping or handling charges in that case. If they are low i'll eat the difference.

Shipping charges in the listing are estimates. There are two 3-prong ac outlet's as well a 250ma USB port for charging.

But this is true for almost any consumer inverter or ups, not just device. An on off switch let's you turn the output when not in use. If you're lucky enough to live in Boston, i'm also happy have you come pick items up from me.
